About
.jpg)
As a recorder player, he has played what has been his instrument of choice since he was six years old, having started his studies at the conservatory at the age of eight. Between 2017 and 2021 he attended the Early Music course at ESMAE (Porto, Portugal) in the class of Pedro Sousa Silva, having also worked with Ana Mafalda Castro, Benjamin Chénier and Amandine Beyer, and in 2019 began his cornett studies with Tiago Simas Freire. Currently, he attends Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (Basel, Switzerland), where he continues his studies in Medieval and Renaissance music.

Although a young musician, António already has substantial experience in performance, both inside and outside his country, having performed with numerous early music ensembles and orchestras (ESMAE's Sesquialtera, Orquestra Barroca Aut Tace, Orquestra Jovem Portuguesa, Capella Invicta, among many others) and as a soloist, including some recognition in competitions (ORDA Amsterdam 2015, 2nd prize; OJ.COM Madeira 2017, finalist).

When António has the time, as exploration and peeking outside the box are as much in his nature as Music is, he can't help but cling to a keyboard (or any other instrument that falls into his hands) or a pen and paper and compose his own music.
